4 Presentations and Appointment
4.1 Life Saving Award – Police Officer Gregory Bednar
Officer Gregory Bednar was recognized and congratulated by the Village Board for his efforts in saving a resident’s life on November 29, 2017. Officer Bednar was presented with a Life Saving Award and commended by the Police Department.

5.1 Vacation of an Alleyway (north of and adjoining 5440, 5430 and 5434 St. Charles Road and east of Sunnyside Drive) – hearing to be opened and continued to February 20, 2018

There was a positive recommendation by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
In 1999 St. Charles Corridor Plan had suggested to make these properties into commercial properties. However, the owner of 1316 Ashbel is trying to sell the property and is unable to because it is zoned commercial. After a brief discussion, the Board agrees that the properties be rezoned R-2 Single Family Residence.

9.6.1 Trustee Liaison Report
Trustee Perez informed the Board and guest that last Thursday night February 1, 2018, the Chamber of Commerce had a Special meeting that was led by Police Chief Smith and Fire Chief Kuryla. The topic was “How to Survive a Shooting at the Workplace”. Twenty-five people were in attendance. Chief Smith will send a link of “How to survive a shooting at the Workplace” to the Board.
Trustee Perez has received about 79% of the music contracts and we have booked the band that will be playing at the Village Picnic. Nine Hole Golf outing will be planned for the Thursday, of the second week of June.
10 Village President
10.1 President’s Report – Thanks to Rudy and all the staff for helping make contact to six residents that will be losing their homes due to the Tollway expansion. In the near future we will be planning to schedule a meeting for the entire town to inform them of the Five Year Tollway Expansion Project. Victoria Park will be impacted. President Lee thanked all staff in every departments for all their hard and good work. At our next Board meeting we will have our Fire Department staffing Recommendation to discuss and the Budget Workshop. 10.2 Upcoming Events

11 Village Administrator – The Tollway is very interested in our clay that is in the retention pond and so instead of transporting the clay elsewhere, we will be delaying our bidding by a few month to save taxpayers money.

Dan asked that since the project will now be delayed, can the clay be banked so that the bidding does not have to be delayed. Mayor Lee responded “No” he did ask the same questions, however the clay would be ruined.
