Village of Schiller Park Historical Commission met January 8.
Here is the minutes as provided by the commission:
Commissioners Present: Daniel Sliwicki, June Oulund, Keith Granum, Hilde Kilian, Diana Caffero Commissioners Absent: Warren Schuhrke, Bonnie Gardeck

Meeting called to order at 6:32 PM by Dan.
Pledge of allegiance was said. Roll call taken.
November minutes as well as 2017 summary of events was given out. Motion made by June seconded by Keith to accept minutes. Vote taken, unanimous.
No guests present.
Library: The Fire Department alerted the Library of some new changes. All electrical outlets must be covered, only surge protector power strips allowed and any items must have a clearance of 18” away from the ceiling. The inspection of the premises will take place sometime in January.
Visit from the fourth graders went well however because of the tight school schedule some groups did not get the entire presentation.
Dan Melone requested the facility for a meeting of a group from Indian Prairie Trails for Jan. 22, 2018. More information will follow.
Keith and Dan are working on historical sites with Alyssa from the Village. They have completed information on Brockmen’s Mill, O’Hare Stadium, Bamberger’s, Ohlhauber Coffee House and the Soo Line Hotel. The next set of historic sites are Eden Inn, White House, Great Escape, Wilson Airport and Horseshoe Sports Bar. The committee is working to have them ready for our Open House in March.
Alyssa and Brian will have a presentation of same. We will again have Louise for the Ancestry information.
Financial Report: We have $119.92 on hand and $3891.13 in our checking account. Motion made to accept financial report by Keith seconded by Hilde. Vote taken unanimous.
Communications: The Booster was received.
Bonnie has booked the entertainment for the Tea Party. Food prices have to be looked into.
Volunteer hours for 2017 calculated by Keith 1222.75.
Motion made to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 PM by Diana seconded by June, all were in favor of adjournment.
