City of Northlake Council met Nov. 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Roll Call:

Present: Alderman Straube, Feldmann Contreras, Padilla, Werba, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Gonzalez

Others Present: Fred Paul, Treasurer

Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Nancy Pauletto, City Clerk

Mark Sterk, Attorney

Norm Nissen, Chief Of Police

Dale Roberts, Superintendent Public Works

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on November 6, 2017. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held November 6, 2017; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections..Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

City Council Meeting Carried

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available; seconded by Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Alderman Straube, Feldmann Contreras, Padilla, Werba, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Gonzalez

Nays: None

Motion To Pay The Warrants And Vouchers Carried

Alderman Straube reminded everyone about Winter Fest on December 9th.

Mayor Sherwin said he had received 2 compliments on the Northlake Police Department.

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve Ordinance O-19-2017; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Motion To Approve Ordinance O-19-2017; An Ordinance Annexing Certain Territory To The City Of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois (Speedway East #3 Llc) Carried

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Resolution R-20-2017; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Absent: Alderman Gonzalez

Motion To Approve Resolution R-20-2017; A Resolution Allocating $100,000.00 In Mft Funds For Maintenance Of Streets And Highways For Year 2017 Carried

Mayor Sherwin presented Resolution R-21-2017, A Resolution in Support of Illinois Bicentennial Celebrations. Illinois will be 200 years old next year. They sent us a bicentennial flag. Alderman Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Resolution R-22-2017; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Motion To Approve Resolution R-22-2017; A Resolution Authorizing The Submittal Of A Grant Application For Illinois Transportation Enchancement Program Funds For The Wolf Road Multi-Use Path Project Carried

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve Ordinance O-20-2017; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Motion To Approve Ordinance O-20-2017; An Ordinance Revising The Penalty For False Fire Alarms And Amending Section 5-6-5-4 Of The Northlake City Code Carried

Alderman Patti made a motion to release the Executive Session Minutes from February 13, 2017, March 20, 2017, April 3, 2017 and April 17, 2017; seconded by Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

George Hainault asked if the city will have a Christmas tree. Mayor Sherwin said we planted a live tree in CenterPoint a few years ago. He has offered to sell or donate a tree from his property.

Anna Marie DeLeo from DeLeo’s Catering proposed opening up a business in Northlake. The menu will be focused on pizza, pasta, salad and appetizers. They would like a midnight liquor license for beer and wine. They would also like a gaming license. The restaurant would be located at 325 E. North Avenue. Mayor Sherwin will put this liquor license request on the next agenda.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
