Village of Franklin Park Committee of the Whole met August 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

I. Pledge of Allegiance

II. Call to Order: President Pedersen called to order the special meeting of the Committee of the Whole at 7:00 p.m.

III. Roll Call; Establishment of Quorum

Village Clerk Irene Avitia called the roll: Present President Barrett Pedersen, Trustees Jimmy Caporusso, John Johnson, Cheryl McLean, Bill Ruhl, Karen Special, and Andy Ybarra

Legal Representation Present: Joe Montana, Village Attorney

Also present: Lisa Anthony (HHR Director), Frank Grieashamer (Treasurer), John Schneider (Community Development Director), William Brehm (Fire Chief), Mike Witz (Director of Police), Jim Baird and Roxana Crasoven (Counsel)

IV. Closed/Executive Session

Motion made by Mr. Caporusso, seconded by Ms. McLean to recess to Closed Session for matters of Employment, Compensation, Discipline, Performance or Dismissal of Certain Employees; and Collective Bargaining Negotiations Matter at 7:03 p.m.

Roll Call: Ayes – Mr. Ybarra, Ms. Special, Mr. Ruhl, Ms. McLean, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Caporusso.

Nays – 0. Abstain – 0. Absent – 0.

Returned from Closed Session at 9:07 p.m.

Village Clerk, Irene Avitia, stated to let the record reflect that all members returned except William Brehm, John Schneider, Mike Witz, Jim Baird and Roxana Crasonva at 9:07 p.m.

No action was taken in Closed Session

V. Committee Reports

1. Finance and Special Events

(a) Program and Financial Priorities

Lisa Anthony spoke about the Citizens Advisory Committee’s recommendation on garbage fees. There was discussion on senior citizen garbage fees

President Pedersen spoke about the Jordan Group and reduction in their duties. Lisa Anthony spoke about the services the Jordan Group provides. There was discussion on the cost for graphic design and the amount to be paid to the Jordan Group

VI. Adjournment

Motion made by Mr. Caporusso, seconded by Ms. McLean to adjourn at 9:44 p.m. Voice vote carried.
