Village of Schiller Park President and Board of Trustees met August 3.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
I. Call to Order:
President Nick Caiafa called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m.
II. Roll Call:
Upon a call of the roll by the Village Clerk, the following Elected Officials were:
Present: President Nick Caiafa, Trustees Russel Klug, Joan Golembiewski, Tom Deegan, Robert Lima, Catherine Gorzynski and Village Clerk Rosa Jos
Absent: Trustee Moses Diaz
President Caiafa declared a quorum present.
Also present: Joe Montana (Corporation Counsel), Brad Townsend (Village Manager)
III. Approval of Minutes:
Trustee Gorzynski moved, seconded by Trustee Lima that the Minutes of the PreSession Board Meeting of July 20, 2017 be approved.
Upon roll call the following voted:
Aye: Trustees Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski
Absent: Trustee Diaz
Nay: None
President Caiafa declared the motion carried.
IV. Business:
1. The mayor discussed hiring process for a new Fire Fighter.
2. Trustee Gorzynski spoke about JDA contribution - it gives SOC a voice.
3. Putting forth a plan for infrastructure:
There have been discussions with firm to update Village buildings. Security updates also need to be made to Village buildings.
4. An Intern has been interviewed for the new office opening.
5. Trustees discussed if AVR should move from Metra Station.
V. Persons Wishing to be Heard:
No one to be heard.
VI. Executive Session:
Trustee Lima moved, seconded by Trustee Golembiewski to adjourn into Executive Session in compliance with the Open Meetings Act, pursuant to Sec. 2-C-1 Employment Matters, and Sec. 2-C-5 Property Acquisition.
Upon roll call the following voted:
Aye: Trustees Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski
Absent: Trustee Diaz
Nay: None
President Caiafa declared the motion carried.
The President and Board of Trustees adjourned to Closed Session at 6:38 p.m.
At 7:00 p.m. following the Closed Session, the President reconvened the public portion of the Meeting. The following Elected Officials were:
Present: President Nick Caiafa, Trustees Russel Klug, Joan Golembiewski, Tom Deegan, Robert Lima, Catherine Gorzynski and Village Clerk Rosa Jos
Absent: Trustee Moses Diaz
President Caiafa declared a quorum present.

VII. Adjournment:
With no further business to conduct, it was moved by Trustee Golembiewski, seconded by Trustee Lima, that the Pre-Session Board Meeting be adjourned.
Upon roll call the following voted:
Aye: Trustees Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski
Absent: Trustee Diaz
Nay: None
President Caiafa declared that the Motion carried and this Pre-Session Board Meeting was adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
