Village of Schiller Park President and Board of Trustees met July 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call to Order:

President Nick Caiafa called the meeting to order at 6:35 P.M.

Roll Call: Upon a call of the roll by the Village Clerk, the following Elected Officials were:

Present: President Nick Caiafa, Russ Klug, Joan Golembiewski, Tom Deegan, Robert Lima, Catherine Gorzynski and Village Clerk Rosa Jos

Absent: Trustee Moses Diaz

President Caiafa declared a quorum present.

Also present: Joe Montana (Corporation Counsel), Brad Townsend (Village Manager)

Approval of Minutes:

Trustee Golembiewski moved, seconded by Trustee Gorzynski that the MINUTES of the Pre-Session Board Meeting of June 15, 2017 be approved as amended.

Upon roll call the following voted:

Aye: Trustees Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski Absent: Trustee Diaz Nay: None

President Caiafa declared the motion carried.

BUSINESS:

1. Change broker for employee health insurance.

2. Continue to use GW Associates for audit and financial statements.

3. FYI from Community Development, employment records are incomplete, unorganized, and some may be missing.

4. Globe Construction is the lowest bidder for the sidewalk water main repairs; the funds allocated by the Board last year ($1.5 mil) for infrastructure. Because we are starting too late in the Season, the remaining funding will be put back into the general fund.

5. 4501 is going through struggles with unorganized files and previous permit system; some files were marked "no charge."

6. Construction of the Dollar Store on Irving has been put on hold by the building department due to lack of plans; also need to add manhole covers to make them MWRD compliant.

7. Part time paramedics are not appointed; only need approval. 8. Clerk Jos is appointing Melissa Gocek as her Deputy Clerk.

9. Previous voluntary dues to SOC has been $2,500/year. They are now asking for a Commitment for membership dues.

10. Hourly rate agreement with JPH for consultant work done with IDOT and the railroad on an as-needed basis to repair viaducts and road.

11. Mayor Caiafa questioned what new entry door was on the bills list because it was not specific.

12. Trustee Golembiewski questioned the dollar amount needing further description on bills list, Specifically regarding petty cash.

Persons Wishing To Be Heard:

No one to be heard.

Adjournment: With no further business to conduct, it was moved by Trustee Klug, seconded by Trustee Gorzynski, that the Pre-Session Board Meeting be adjourned.

Upon roll call the following voted:

Aye: Trustees Klug, Golembiewski, Deegan, Lima and Gorzynski

Absent: Trustee Diaz

Nay: None

President Caiafa declared that the Motion carried and this Pre-Session Board Meeting was adjourned at 7:07 P.M.
