Village of Maywood Board of Trustees met April 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Call to Order The Regular Board Meeting of Tuesday, April 18, 2017 was called to order by Mayor Edwenna Perkins at 7:02 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 125 South 5" Avenue, Maywood, IL 60153.

Roll Call Upon roll call by Viola Mims, Village Clerk, the following answered Present: Mayor Edwenna Perkins, Trustee(s) H. Yarbrough, Sr., I. Brandon, A. Dorris, M. Rogers, M. Lightford and R. Rivers. Absent: None. There being a Quorum Present, the meeting was convened.

Staff Attendance:

Willie Norfleet, Jr., Village Manager David Myers, Director of Community Development/Asst. Village Manager Michael Jurusik, Village Attorney Craig Bronaugh, Jr., Fire Chief Valdimir Talley, Jr., Chief of Police Lanya Satchell, Finance Director John West, Public Works Director William Peterhansen, Village Engineer

Evocation Mr. Myers gave the invocation,

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag Everyone remained standing and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

Oaths, Reports, Proclamations, Announcements and Appointments Clerk Mims made an announcement regarding general meeting etiquette. Mayor Perkins announced the Ideas for Life Senior Fair being hosted by the Village of Maywood and taking place Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at 200 S. 5" Ave., Maywood, IL. Trustee Brandon reminded residents of the Village-Pride, VillageWide event also taking place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m.- noon, starting at Reuse Depot, 50 Madison St. Maywood, IL. Trustee Brandon made an additional announcement of interest to the community. Note: Mr. Norfleet and Mr. Myers made announcements of interest to the community after Item 10.

A. Mayor's Report and Theme: “A Shift Is Coming; Things Are Changeng In Our Favor When The People Get A Mind To Work.':

1. Presentation of Proclamation for Comcast Day April 22, 2017.

Mr. Norfleet read the proclamation declaring April 22, 2017, "Comcast Cares Day”.

2. Presentation of Proclamation declaring April 22, 2017“Village-Pride, Village-Wide Day” in the Village of Maywood. Mr. Norfleet read the proclamation also declaring April 22, 2017, "Village-Pride, Village-Wide Day”

B. Manager's Report: None

C. Finance Management Report(s):

1. Village of Maywood Warrant List No. 200430 through April 1, 2017 in the amount of $130,990.84. Mr. Norfleet noted the correct amount of $373,664.18 as indicated on the warrant list placed on the dais.

Motioned By Trustee Dorrs And Seconded By Trustee Lightford To Approve The Minutes For The Village Board Of Trustees Regular Board Meeting Of Tuesday, April 5, 2017. Discussion: Trustee Rivers sought clarification on what minutes were being approved. Clerk Mims noted the ones presented on the dais. An amended motion follows. Motioned By Trustee Dorris And Seconded By Trustee Le=Ightford To Approve The Minutes That Were Given By The Clerk At The Beginning Of The Meeting. (Note: Actual minutes - Wednesday, April 5, 2017)

Adjournment Mayor Perkins and the Board of Trustees adjourned the April 18, 2017, Regular Board Meeting with a Motion by Trustee Brandon and a Second by Trustee Rivers at 7:42 p.m. in the Village of Maywood Council Chambers.

The Vote was affirmed unanimously by the Board of Trustees at 7:42 p.m.
