Lyons trustees increase compensation for elected officials

The village of Lyons Board of Trustees met Oct. 28 to increase compensation for elected officials.

Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the board:

The board consists of the village president and six trustees, all of whom are elected for four-year staggered terms. Meetings are typically held at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month.

I formally call a Special Meeting of the corporate authorities for Friday, October 28, 2016, at 3:15 p.m. in the Village Hall Council Chambers, 4200 S. Lawndale Avenue, Lyons, IL 60534.

The purpose of the Special Meeting is to pass an ordinance increasing the compensation for the elected officials, effective with the new term of those officials elected at the April 4, 2017 municipal election. This ordinance was passed on August 16, 2016 at a Regular Village of Lyons Board of Trustees Meeting. The purpose of again passing the ordinance is to sufficiently identify and fully explain the purpose and nature of the ordinance. No further business will be conducted. I am attaching the Agenda for the Special Meeting.
