Hillside School District 93 Board seeks new board member

Hillside School District 93 Board of Education will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Here is the agenda as provided by Hillside School District 93:

As per Board of Education Policy 2:230 Public Participation at School Board Meetings and Petitions to the BoardAt each regular and special open meeting, members of the public and District employees may comment to or ask questions of the School Board, subject to reasonable constraints.The individuals appearing before the Board are expected to follow these guidelines:1. Address the Board only at the appropriate time as indicated on the agenda and when recognized by the Board President.2. Identify oneself and be brief. Ordinarily, comments shall be limited to 5 minutes. In unusual circumstances, and when an individual has made a request in advance to speak for a longer period of time, the individual may be allowed to speak for more than 5 minutes.3. Observe the Board President’s decision to shorten public comment to conserve time and give the maximum number of individuals an opportunity to speak.4. Observe the Board President’s decision to determine procedural matters regarding public participation not otherwise covered in Board policy.5. Conduct oneself with respect and civility toward others and otherwise abide by Board policy, 8:30, Visitors to and Conduct on School Property.Petitions or written correspondence to the Board shall be presented to the Board in the next regular Board packet.

Terisa Fitzpatrick, member of the Hillside School District 93 Board of Education submitted her written resignation effective October 12, 2016, citing personal reasons.

Mrs. Wagner, Director of Curriculum and Assessment will give a presentation on the 2015-2016 PARCC scores.

C. P.A.E.C. Report

Mrs. Johnson will give an overview of the recent P.A.E.C. Meeting.

D. Vision for Board of Education/District/Community Relationships

The Board of Education will discuss the action plan to enhance the district and community engagement.

E. School Report

The Board of Education will discuss the action plan to enhance the district and community engagement.

F. Filling Board of Education Vacancy

The Board of Education will discuss filling a Board Vacancy.

Terisa Fitzpatrick, member of the Hillside School District 93 Board of Education submitted her written resignation effective October 12, 2016, citing personal reasons. To fill the vacancy, the school board is seeking applicants from the District 93 community. Interested residents should submit a completed application. The term of the appointed board member will run until the April 2017 election. Applications are due by Friday, October 28, 2016. Interviews for the position will be scheduled with the person taking office at the November 9, 2016 Board of Education Meeting.
