Elmwood Park Village Board considers Facade Improvement Program entries

At a meeting this week, the Elmwood Park Village Board considered approving conceptual design drawings to enter in the Village of Elmwood Park Façade Improvement Program.

a) Elmwood Park Fire Department Chief Kevin Miller to introduce new firefighter Nicolas Picicci who was hired April 4, 2016. President Saviano will swear in firefighter Picicci. Chief Miller will also introduce firefighters Joseph Witz and Jeff Joncha and thank them for their hard work in securing continuing education grants.

b) Recognition of five Elmwood Park youths who attended the Junior Gold Bowling Championships in Indiana. This is an annual national tornament for the top male and female youth bowlers in the United States. The winners were as follows: Jacob Perry who finished 33rd out of 201 bowlers in the U12 boys division, Nicholas Fox who finished 89th out of 519 bowlers in the U15 division, Nico Campana who finished 500th out of 519 bowlers in the U15 division,Sara Fox who finished 64th out of 302 bowlers in the U15 division and Brandon Campana who finished 779th our of 1358 bowlers in the U20 division.

c) Presentation of "Thank You" cards to the board from John Mills students, PTA and Staff for the new playground equipment.

a) Approval of the minutes of a meeting of the President and Board of Trustees held August 15, 2016.

c) Receive and Tile Minutes of the Economic Development Commission meeting held July 21, 2106.

d) Receive and File minutes of the Plan Zoning Commission held Juyly 11, 2016.

e) Various license applications submitted to the Village Clerks office.

f) A Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement Between the Village of Elmwood Park and The County Of Cook for the Pavement Rehabilitation of Various Streets Throughout the Village of Elmwood Park.

g) Ordinance Approving, Authorizing The Execution of a Real Estate Purchase Contract for the Property Commonly Described as 20-21 Conti Parkway, Elmwood Park, Illinois.

6) Communications

a) Letter from Roasanne Dattalo Eiternick, President of MCEP Kiwanis requesting permission to hold "National Peanut Day" Sept. 22-14th, 2016 various locations in the village.

b) Letter from Lion Mitch Kaiser, MCEP Lions Club requesting permission to hold "Candy Day" Oct.7-9th, 2016 at various locations in the village.

c) Ratification of permission granted by President Saviano to John Carrozza, Knights of Columbus to hold "Tootsie Roll Day" on Sept. 16-17th, 2016 at various locations.

d) Letter from Susan Rakis, Director of Product Program, Girl Scouts of America, requesting permission to hold their annual Fall Product Program October 1-23, 2016 and Cookie Sales from January 1-22, 2017 at various locations.

e) Letter from Mr. Carmen Forte, Jr., Plan Zoning Commission secretary, recoommending approval of façade program applications for businesses located at 7308 W. North Ave and 7444 W. North Ave.

a) Motion to approve the conceptual design drawings submitted pursuant to an application for participation in the Village of Elmwood Park Façade Improvement Program for the property located at 7308 W. North Avenue in the Village of Elmwood Park.

b) Motion to approve the conceptual design drawings submitted pursuant to an application for participation in the Village of Elmwood Park Façade Improvement Program for the property located at 7444 W. North Avenue in the Village of Elmwood Park.
