Hillside trustees consider applying for state grant to fund road upgrades

At a recent special meeting, the Hillside Village Board considered a resolution to apply  for an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program grant to fund the Butterfield Road Beautification Project.

Below are the minutes for this meeting, as provided by the board.

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF HILLSIDE HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL COMPLEX, 425 HILLSIDE AVENUE, HILLSIDE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, ON MONDAY, JUNE 13, 2016

The special meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Joseph T. Tamburino. The following members responded as present at roll call :

Mayor – Joseph T. Tamburino Clerk - Linda L. Gould Trustees - Lytton H. Andersen

– Frank J. Lomeli, Sr.

– David V. Delgado

- John N. Kramer

– Valerie Farries

- Marvin A. Watson Absent - None

Also present were: Russell Wajda, Village Administrator; John Flood; Treasurer and Assistant Administrator; Joseph Pisano, Public Works Director; Joseph Lukaszek, Police Chief ; Jeffrey Pilz Fire Chief ; Patrick Deady, Village Attorney; Matt Buerger, Village Engineer; George Gourley, resident

PURPOSE OF MEETING:

Approval of Resolution 16-04 Authorizing Submittal of a Grant Application for Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program Funds for the Village of Hillside Butterfield Road Beautification Project.

Village Administrator Wajda reported that there is a triangular piece of property owned by Aspire located by Litt Drive near Del Rio Auto Repair that the Village of Hillside is trying to obtain a grant to establish a park in that area that could also be used jointly by Aspire for their efforts in working with their patrons.

Mayor Tamburino entertained a motion to approve Resolution 16–04 Authorizing Submittal of a Grant Application for Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program Funds for the Village of Hillside Butterfield Road Beautification Project.

So moved by Trustee Kramer, seconded by Trustee Andersen. Roll call vote resulted as follows:

Ayes : Trustees Andersen, Lomeli, Delgado, Kramer,

Farries, Watson

Nays : None

Absent: Norle

Motion declared carried

As there was no further discussion before the Board, Mayor Tamburino entertained a motion to adjourn to the Special Meeting.

So moved by Trustee Andersen, seconded by Trustee Delgado.

All voting aye, motion carried.

Adjournment 7:35 P. M.
