The Forest Park Diversity Commission will select a chairperson at its next meeting 7 p.m. today in the Lower Level of Village Hall, 517 Desplaines Ave.
Established in 2016, the Diversity Commission is resource for experience and information on diversity issues and serves in an advisory capacity to the mayor and Village Council. It helps enrich the social and intellectual life of all residents through educational and social programs. It also facilitates awareness and promotes the understanding and acceptance of all people, especially those who have different racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds, sexual preferences, physical limitations, gender, educational, and economic levels.
