Proviso High Schools District 209 Board names new superintendent
The Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Board recently named Jesse Rodriguez as the district's new superintendent, effective July 1.
District officials described Rodgriguez as a motivated, qualified leader with two decades of education and administrative experience who is bilingual in English and Spanish. Rodriguez currently is the regional superintendent for Milwaukee Public Schools, a position with a jurisdiction of more than 30 schools.
"He comes with a lot of energy and wants to do a lot of great things," District 209 Board President Theresa Kelly said. "We’ll be able to move Proviso forward, and Proviso will be known as one of the best schools in Illinois."
Rodriguez emerged as the top candidate from a rigorous application process that included multiple interviews with the District 209 school board, as well as meetings with district staff and community members.
"We’re going to continue to do great work here in Proviso," Rodriguez said. "It is something I really wanted to do, and I found a place I want to be at. This is going to be a great partnership with the state reps and this wonderful board and this wonderful community."
