From bookstore and booster club business to contracts and concussion policy, the Oak Park and River Forest High School District 200 Board addressed issues at a meeting late last week.
Gail Kalmerton provided a status report on FOIA requests, Hattie Grimm presented a student council liaison report and Sheila Hardin presented a Faculty Senate report.
The board’s consent agenda involved approval of monthly financial reports, as well as policy and contract renewals, purchases and personnel recommendations.
Policy items for first readings pertained in part to health care, homeless population education, student rights and responsibilities, and security matters. Second-reading items involved absence policies, school year calendar matters, and grading and promotion standards.
Under action items, the board considered teaching-hour reductions, creating a bookstore policy, fee and stipend recommendations, and student-discipline matters. Discussion items involved an EOS schools partnerships, compensation policies, a pool update and the district's policy on student-athlete concussions/head injuries.
