The River Forest Park District is looking for volunteers who want to spend their Earth Day cleaning up the bank of the Des Plaines River and Thatcher Woods.

Volunteers will meet at the Depot in River Forest at 8 a.m. on April 23. Park district officials recommend that people work in groups of at least four people or more, and that they wear  protective attire that includes long sleeves and pants. The Depot will provide water for volunteers who bring their own water bottles.

The park district will provide a free, zero-waste continental breakfast for all volunteers.

The cleanup is expected to wrap up around 10 a.m.

Prospective participants can download the registration form at http://rfparks.com/events/riverwoods-clean-up/.
