Village of Westchester looks forward to annual Music Fest | wavebreakmedia
Plans for Music Fest, the community barbecue and other special events for the year was a hot topic on the agenda at the January board meeting for the village of Westchester, Illinois.
The board was informed that talks have already taken place regarding securing performers for the events and renting a portable stage from Naperville/Woodridge.
The board also recognized three police officers for their assistance during two fires on New Year's Eve. Chief Jim Adams praised Officers Kristian Marie Tountas and Mark Borkovec for duties performed in relation to one fire. Officer Richard Kirk was also recognized for assisting in the other fire.
Village Manager Janet Matthys told the board that voter registration for the presidential primary election on March 16 is open.
Residents also can expect to see changes to signage regarding where parking is allowed during snow removal. The board approved an ordinance to amend parking restrictions during periods of snow removal. The enforcement won’t apply until signs have been updated. The board determined that will occur in November.
A special permit for placement of an electronic sign at 1840 Westchester Blvd. also was approved
The board voted to approve Change Order No. 3 of a contract between the village and Berger Excavating Contractors Inc. involving the expansion of Mayfair Reservoir, but delayed voting on Change Order No. 4 while it researched the number of piping inlets underground on Kensington, Downing, Mayfair and Buckingham, and whether they are currently being used.
