Stone Park registered a median commercial property tax rate of 12.7% for fiscal year 2025, ranking second among all Cook County municipalities, according to BlockShopper.com.

The median rate for the county overall was 2.9% in fiscal year 2025, placing Stone Park 9.8 percentage points above the county median.

Out of 92 cities in Cook County, tax rates ranged between 1.1% in Harwood Heights and 15.6% in Chicago Heights.

In fiscal year 2024, Stone Park’s median commercial property tax rate was 1.7%, which placed it 83rd in the county at that time.

The average commercial property tax rate was 1.76% among 53 major U.S. cities in 2024, as reported by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.
