Stars Lose on the Road to Elmhurst

he Dominican University women’s basketball team went on the road and took on nearby Elmhurst University on Tuesday.

Results:
Elmhurst: 74
Dominican: 61

How it Happened:
-Dominican fell behind early and had to come from behind the whole game.
-DU gave up 26 points in the first quarter.
-The Stars got going in the second quarter and outscored Elmhurst 15-11
-Dominican trailed 37-25 at halftime.
-The offense for Elmhurst relied heavily on the three point line in the third quarter.
-DU couldn’t overcome the early deficit, despite only being outscored by 1 point in the second half.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Toni Hayes led the way with her post scoring and rebounding.
-Freshman Mariangely Velez was the main facilitator of the offense.
-Freshman Kameron Goodman led the team with 3 threes.
