Science Lecture Series

The Triton College Science Lectures Series will be hosting Regulation of Organellar Protein Degradation via Ubiquitin Proteasome System on Tuesday, Dec. 7, in the E Building (E-303), at 10 a.m. Admission is free. The event is presented by Dr. Shafi Kuchay, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.

Ubiquitin Proteasome System (UPS) is involved in cellular protein degradation. Disruption of UPS is found in many diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular abnormalities. Dr. Kuchay is currently investigating how UPS affects cell function, as well as how dysregulated protein degradation can be a cause for human disease.
