Riverside Road is scheduled to be closed to traffic next week as the Village of Riverside begins work on a new storm sewer and outfall installation at Olmsted Road and Riverside Road. Construction will start Monday, October 20, with crews working from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day through Friday, October 24.

The project involves installing a 48-inch diameter storm sewer, an outfall structure, and associated manholes. Work will begin at the river’s edge near Olmsted Road and move east across Riverside Road. During construction hours, Riverside Road will not be accessible to through traffic. A detour route will guide drivers around the closure.

Residents living within the affected area will have local access maintained during construction via designated areas marked on the provided map. The statement notes, “If your residence is located within the closure limits, local access will be maintained during construction hours through the areas highlighted in orange and marked ‘Road Closed to Thru Traffic’ on the map.”

Parking restrictions will also be in effect on Riverside Road at Olmsted Road for the duration of construction. Residents whose driveway access may be impacted will receive advance notice at least one day before any changes take place. All driveways and roadways are expected to remain open outside of active work hours.

Garbage collection times may shift due to ongoing work. The release advises residents: “Please place your garbage out the night before your regular pickup day, as collection may occur earlier than usual due to construction.”

The Village expressed gratitude for residents’ cooperation while infrastructure improvements are underway: “We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important infrastructure improvements in your neighborhood.”
