Oak Park Police Department, through its official Twitter account, has made several announcements regarding recent developments and updates within the department. These announcements include summaries of police activity as well as information about changes in department personnel.

On April 21, 2025, the Oak Park Police Department announced that “The latest summary of police activity is now posted at https://t.co/4QmWfCiRtx.” This announcement was made via a tweet which included a link to the detailed report.

The following day, on April 22, 2025, a similar update was posted by the department, stating “The latest summary of police activity is now posted at https://t.co/j4QQ36ilvj.” This tweet also provided a link to access the comprehensive description of recent police activities.

Later that same day, a significant announcement was made regarding personnel changes within the Oak Park Police Department. It was conveyed that “This week, we celebrated Nathaniel Leitl’s promotion to commander. Commander Leitl has been with the department since 2000 and served most recently as Sergeant in our Investigations Bureau, but has also been a canine officer and in patrol. He will serve as Patrol Commander.” This post highlighted Nathaniel Leitl’s long-term commitment and varied experience with the department, as he takes on a new role as Patrol Commander.
