Oak Park And River Forest High School schedules junior post-secondary planning meetings

Oak Park and River Forest High School will hold Junior Post-Secondary Planning Meetings on Tuesday, February 10, and Wednesday, February 11. Students are encouraged to attend one of these meetings with their counselors.

The meetings will provide information about resources for finding colleges and careers, as well as options such as two- and four-year college degrees and apprenticeships. The full schedule for the meetings has been released.

Oak Park and River Forest High School serves students in grades 9 through 12 in Oak Park and Cook County, with a total enrollment of 3,393 during the 2019-2020 school year according to the Illinois Report Card (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). In that year, approximately 25.4 percent of students were in grade 11, which is the primary audience for these planning meetings (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

Demographically, the student body was composed of about 56.9 percent white students, 18.2 percent black students, 12.6 percent Hispanic students, and 3.8 percent Asian students during the same period (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

These planning sessions aim to help juniors understand their post-secondary options before entering their final year at the high school.
