Jesús “Chuy” García, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 4th district, has recently shared a series of tweets addressing various topics of interest to his constituents. The tweets, posted on December 9 and 10, cover educational opportunities for students, support for immigrant communities in Chicago, and his response to a judicial ruling affecting DACA recipients.

On December 9, García announced an opportunity for students through the Federal Student Aid (FSA). He stated: “Attention students! The FSA will be hosting a series of free virtual webinars on Tuesday, Dec. 10th. I encourage all students applying for college soon to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn more about the FAFSA process.”

The following day, December 10, García reaffirmed his commitment to immigrant communities in Chicago with the statement: “Chicago is a welcoming city and I will keep fighting for our immigrant communities.”

Later that same day, García expressed disappointment regarding a court decision by a judge appointed during Donald Trump’s presidency. He commented: “This ruling by a Trump appointed judge is extremely disappointing. DACA recipients deserve access to the ACA and a pathway to citizenship. Their contributions to our communities are invaluable, and we must protect them from uncertainty.”
