Cicero First Lady Diana Dominick was honored with the top Orgullo Latino Award during the Mujeres Latinas de Impacto celebration, according to a Mar. 15 announcement. The event, organized by Radio Internacional Chicago 112.3 FM in partnership with community groups including the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), recognized 75 Latina women for their leadership and service.

The recognition highlights the importance of honoring women who contribute to their communities through dedication and leadership. Organizers said the award celebrates those whose efforts have made a meaningful impact on families and neighborhoods.

Dominick was recognized for her years of service as Cicero’s First Lady, Director of the Cicero Senior Center, and head of the Town’s Media Department. “Receiving this recognition is truly an honor, but what means the most to me is being able to serve the community that I love,” said Mrs. Dominick. “Cicero is filled with strong and inspiring women, and I am proud to stand alongside them. International Women’s Day reminds us that when women support and uplift one another, we create stronger families and stronger communities. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working for the people of Cicero.”

Town President Larry Dominick presented his wife with the award during a ceremony at Cicero Palace Regency Hall. “Diana has always led with her heart,” President Dominick said. “Her compassion for the people of Cicero and her commitment to helping families is something I see every single day. I could not be prouder to see her recognized as a Mujer Latina de Impacto, because she truly represents the strength, dedication, and spirit of our community. International Women’s Day is about recognizing the women who make a difference, and Diana is someone who has dedicated her life to uplifting others.”

Other honorees included Cicero Town Trustee Blanca Vargas—who also serves as President of LULAC Cicero—and Executive Administrative Assistant Rosalba Raygoza. “Being recognized among so many inspiring Latina women is truly meaningful,” said Trustee Vargas. “Our community is filled with hardworking women who lead with passion, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping others.” Raygoza added: “It is an incredible honor to be recognized alongside such inspiring women… Latina women bring strength, determination, and heart to everything we do.”

Alondra Marban, CEO of Radio Internacional Chicago, said that Mujeres Latinas de Impacto highlights powerful contributions made by Latina women every day in their communities.

Organizers described the evening as one focused on inspiration and empowerment while honoring those who continue transforming lives in Cicero.
