Jesús “Chuy” García, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 4th district, shared a series of tweets highlighting his recent activities and initiatives. García has been active in various community engagements and legislative efforts.

On March 24, 2025, Congressman García announced an opportunity for high school students in Illinois’ 4th District to participate in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. In his tweet, he invited submissions by April 30 for a chance to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol. He encouraged interested students to visit his website for more information: “Calling all IL-04 high schoolers! My office is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition…”

The following day, on March 25, García expressed gratitude after meeting with members of the Chicago Latino Caucus Foundation Leadership and CHCI fellows. He emphasized the importance of staying informed and engaged with community matters during these times: “Had a great conversation with the Chicago Latino Caucus Foundation Leadership and CHCI fellows…”

In another tweet on March 25, García highlighted his involvement in federal legislation aimed at addressing historical injustices against Native American communities. He noted his pride in introducing legislation to return land to the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation: “This is long overdue, and I am proud to have been part of having introduced federal legislation…”
