City of Northlake City Council met May 1.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT VIA CONFERENCE BRIDGE: ALDERMAN CONTRERAS

OTHERS PRESENT: 

KEN BERES, CHIEF OF POLICE

TONY FACIANO, SUPERINTENDENT PUBLIC WORKS

CAROL LAMPARD, FINANCE DIRECTOR

MARK STERK, CITY ATTORNEY

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on April 17, 2023. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on April 17, 2023; seconded by Alderman Urbina. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON APRIL 17, 2023 CARRIED

Aldermen Feldmann, Urbina, Johnson and Patti were each sworn in for a successive 4-year term; Alderman Sosa was sworn in for a new 4-year term.

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, CONTRERAS, SOSA, JOHNSON, URBINA, GROCHOWSKI AND PATTI

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin noted the council will address some regulations regarding the size of groups renting outdoor space at Centerpoint at the next meeting; Alderman Patti noted the Youth Commission is holding FREE Kids’ Bingo on May 10th at the Sandy Vasquez Center; Alderman Feldmann thanked Public Works for quickly addressing her concerns regarding the school zone speed limit on Wolf Road.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
