City of Northlake City Council met April 17

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call:

Present: Alderman Straube

Alderman Feldmann

Alderman Johnson

Alderman Grochowski

Alderman Patti

Present Via Conference Bridge: 

Alderman Contreras

Alderman Urbina

Absent: Alderman Garcia

Others Present: Ken Beres, Chief Of Police

Tony Faciano, Superintendent Public Works

Mark Sterk, City Attorney

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on April 3, 2023. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on April 3, 2023; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Chief Ken Beres swore in a new police officer, Suheily Lopez.

Alderman Straube made a motion to appoint Patricia Edwards to the Senior Commission; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson, Urbina, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Garcia

Nays: None

Motion To Appoint Patricia Edwards To The Senior Commission Carried

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson, Urbina, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Garcia

Nays: None

Motion To Accept The Warrants And Vouchers Carried

Mayor Sherwin noted the Park District and the City are in the process of planning a “preMother’s Day Brunch” the week before Mother’s Day next year; there are several new activities being planned for Sunday during Northlake Community Days this year; the city is working on the new ordinance for live band restrictions.

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve Resolution R-10-2023; A Resolution Approving an Expenditure of Matching Funds for Improvements to Parkview Drive Bridge and Palmer Avenue Bridge Section Number 20-00098-00-BR; Project No. JUC2(911); Job No. C-91-003-23 Cook County, Illinois.; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Aldermen Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Johnson, Urbina, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Garcia

Nays: None
