On March 29, 2025, García addressed potential funding cuts to vital health services for Illinois, expressing grave concern over their repercussions on community well-being. He asserted, “Trump is cutting millions in approved vital health funding for IL, threatening the well-being of our communities. These cuts are reckless and put lives at risk – We will fight back for these funds!” This tweet underlined his determination to oppose these budget reductions and their potential impact.
