The Brookfield Zoning Commission has scheduled a public workshop for Wednesday, January 28 at 6 p.m. at the Brookfield Village Hall, located at 8820 Brookfield Ave. The purpose of the meeting is to review, discuss, and gather feedback on Zoning Code Public Draft 2.0.

In January 2024, the Village Board hired Camiros Ltd. to undertake a comprehensive rewrite of the Zoning and Sign Codes. This process began with the creation of a Technical Report in July 2024, which underwent review by staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission in July 2025 before work on rewriting the code commenced.

Over the past year and a half, efforts have focused on developing the new zoning code. In September 2025, a joint workshop involving both the Village Board and Planning and Zoning Commission was held to consider Public Draft 1.0 of the Zoning Code.

After receiving input during that session, revisions were made leading to Public Draft 2.0, which will be discussed at the upcoming workshop.
