The Village of Brookfield is seeking a suitable tree to serve as the centerpiece for its annual holiday celebration at Grossdale Station. The event, scheduled for December 6, marks the official start of the holiday season in Brookfield.

Each year, the village decorates a large pine or fir tree at Grossdale Station as part of its festivities. The tradition relies on donations from residents who have appropriately sized trees on their private property. The village will handle the removal and transportation of the selected tree at no cost to the donor, with plans to move it in mid-November.

Residents interested in donating a tree are asked to contact Brookfield Public Works Forestry Foreman Victor Janusz. They should provide their name, address, contact information, and a photo of the tree by email at vjanusz@brookfieldil.gov.

“Of course, the key part of that celebratory moment is having a great tree we can festoon with decorations and lots of lights,” the village stated.
