Jeff Jareczek and his family have been recognized as the winners of the Brookfield Beautification Commission’s 2025 Holiday House Decorating Recognition Program. Their home at 3642 Morton Ave. received more than 200 votes from the public, making it this year’s top choice.
Jareczek, who works as a carpenter, has decorated his home for the holidays since moving to Brookfield in 2009. After relocating to Morton Avenue in 2020, he began expanding his holiday displays by collecting vintage molded plastic decorations from garage sales. The display features candles surrounding the yard, two squads of toy soldiers—Jareczek notes he hopes to add more in future years—as well as figures such as Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman, carolers, and others.
A nativity scene is placed near the front entrance with baby Jesus appearing only on Christmas Eve. Colored lights form an archway leading to the door, while white lights and illuminated snowflakes decorate the home’s exterior.
On January 5th, Jareczek accepted a sign recognizing his achievement along with a $50 gift card. The Beautification Commission had selected two finalists from six nominees before opening voting to residents through an online ballot in late December.
The Beautification Commission will continue its recognition programs throughout 2026. From June through August, public-facing gardens are acknowledged—including those featuring native plants. In October, nominations open for Halloween house decorations before shifting focus back to holiday displays in December.
