The Brookfield Beautification Commission has named the winners of the 2024 Brookie Awards. The awards are given annually to business owners who have invested in enhancing both the appearance of their business premises.

On Friday, April 4, the awards were presented by Commission Chairwoman Elaine Jans, Commissioner Steve Sabourin, and Village Board Liaison Katie Kaluzny. This year, three businesses were recognized for their efforts to improve their properties.

The winners for 2024 include Ty Johnson of Brookfield Oral Surgery located at 9240 Broadway Ave., Sarah Meyer of The Brookfield Barber at 8840 Brookfield Ave., and Martin Lynch, owner of the Irish Times Pub & Restaurant positioned at 8869 Burlington Ave.

Martin Lynch’s project, supported by the Village’s Property Improvement Program, involved substantial exterior enhancements. The program offers a 50% reimbursement up to $20,000 for business owners within the Village’s TIF districts to assist with exterior renovations.

Ty Johnson has transformed both the exterior and interior of his business. The improvements included new signage outside and a modern redesign of the interior.

Sarah Meyer made changes to the façade of her business by fitting a new, appealing awning.

The community congratulates the recipients of the 2024 Brookie Awards.

The Brookfield Oral Surgery team displayed their Brookie Award on April 4, while Sarah Meyer of Brookfield Barber received her award the same day. The Irish Times team accepted the award for Martin Lynch.
