The Aurora Spartans, featuring former Fenwick High School standout Talia Lorenzo, were defeated 13-4 by the WPI Engineers in an NCAA Division III softball contest held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11.
The matchup at Rooftop Field marked the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
Lorenzo pitched one inning, giving up one earned run and issuing two walks.
The Spartans will next compete against the Franklin Grizzlies on Sunday, March 15, at 1 p.m. at Behrens Field.
