Village of Western Springs Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met Nov. 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Present: Chair Marcia Buell; Commissioner Janet Dahl; Commissioner James Maragos; Ashlee Niezgoda, Deputy Chief of Police; Ellen Baer, Village Manager; Daisy Chavez, Assistant to Village Manager

Agenda Items:

1. Call to Order

Chair Buell called the meeting to order at 8:04 a.m.

2. Roll Call

Chair Marcia Buell, Commissioner Janet Dahl, and Commissioner James Maragos were present. Also present were Ashlee Niezgoda, Deputy Chief of Police, Ellen Baer, Village Manager, and Daisy Chavez, Assistant to Village Manager.

3. Approval of Meeting Minutes – August 25, 2022

MOTION: Commissioner Maragos made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 25, 2022 meeting. Commissioner Dahl seconded the motion. All present were in favor and the motion was approved by voice vote.

4. Public Comment

None.

5. Recess to Closed Session 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) - Discussion of the Appointment, Employment, Compensation, Discipline, Performance, or Dismissal of Specific Employee(s) of the Public Body

MOTION: Commissioner Dahl made a motion to recess to closed session. Commissioner Maragos seconded the motion. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote and closed session began at 8:05 a.m.

6. Reconvene to Open Session

MOTION: Chair Buell made a motion to reconvene to open session. Commissioner Maragos seconded the motion. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote and open session reconvened at 9:46 a.m.

7. Other Business

A date of November 23, 2022 at 7:15 a.m. was set for the next meeting of the BFPC.

8. Adjournment

MOTION: Commissioner Dahl made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Commissioner Maragos seconded the motion. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
