Analysis: Berkeley pays $2.42 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Berkeley Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 70.9 percent of the $665,328 the Berkeley Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.42 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Berkeley contributed $471,633 to the fund, which saw a $201,125 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $194,140, or 29.2 percent, in 2018.
