The Oak Park Property Tax Watch group is slated to host a pair of Meet the Candidate forums prior to the April 2 municipal election.

In a Feb. 12 press release, the group announced a March 4 gathering will feature Board of Education candidates for Oak-Park-River Forest District 200. The next night, candidates vying for the Oak Park Village Board and Park District of Oak Park will be featured.

Candidates for Oak Park School District 97 will be unable to attend the forum on March 4 due to scheduling conflicts.

Both two-hour forums will be held at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Oak Park beginning at 7 p.m.

The forums are slated to open with a moderator posing an opening question, followed by a give-and-take session in which audience members can ask questions of the candidates.

With more than 1,100 members, Oak Park Property Tax Watch is a Facebook group "dedicated to tackling the issue of rising property taxes in Oak Park," where taxes have spiked dramatically since the start of the new millennium.
