Stickney Fire Department responded to 157 calls in 2017 - 34.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Stickney included 21 fires - three structure fires, four vehicle fires and 14 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $136,250 in fire loss - or about $6,488 per fire.

The department also received 135 false calls, including one malicious call and 134 other false calls.

One fire service member was injured in non fire-related incidents.

The Stickney Fire Department had an annual budget of $797,372 in 2017.
