BROOKFIELD POLICE PENSION FUND: Village of Brookfield Assists Commuters and Residents during Construction

Road

Brookfield Police Pension Fund issued the following announcement on June 14.

Safety

The Village of Brookfield is working hard to ensure that commuters and residents are safe during the construction on Prairie Avenue starting on June 15th and lasting until June 23rd. Safety fencing to prevent trespassing along the BNSF tracks has been requested. The Village of Brookfield Police Officers will be monitoring this site during construction and have gratefully accepted additional assistance from the BNSF Police Department on Saturday the 16th as well.

Convenience

The Village is also making every effort to make commuting more convenient during construction. FREE temporary commuter parking spaces have been provided along Brookfield Avenue and Burlington Avenue on the side of the streets closest to the railroad tracks.

Two temporary ADA parking spaces are going to be added on the north side of the Hollywood Metra Station (Zoo Stop).

Also, the Village of Brookfield has borrowed bike racks from School District 95. More from the Forest Preserves of Cook County will be added. These temporary bike racks will be placed at both Congress Park and Hollywood Metra stations. See the images below.
