Analysis: Berwyn pays $1.42 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Berwyn Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 58.5 percent of the $2,654,906 the Berwyn Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $1.42 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Berwyn contributed $1,552,361 to the fund, which saw a $15,039,015 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $1,086,598, or 40.9 percent, in 2016. Another $15,947 came from other unspecified sources.
