Village of Franklin Park Committee of the Whole met August 28.

I. Pledge of Allegiance
II. Call to Order: President Pedersen called to order the special meeting of the Committee of the Whole at 7:00 p.m.
III. Roll Call; Establishment of Quorum
Village Clerk Irene Avitia called the roll: Present President Barrett Pedersen, Trustees John Johnson, Cheryl McLean, Bill Ruhl, Karen Special, Andy Ybarra, and Jimmy Caporusso, (Due to being out of town on full time employment business, Mr. Caporusso attended the meeting via conference call – It was established that Mr. Caporusso could hear us)
Legal Representation Present: Joe Montana, Village Attorney
Also present: Lisa Anthony (HHR Director)
Motion made by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Ms. McLean and Ms. Special to allow Mr. Caporusso to attend via conference call. Voice vote carried
IV. Department Head Report
1. Health and Human Resources
Lisa Anthony spoke regarding garbage renewal contract. Proposal to renew residential garbage contract for 5 years, with zero increase for years 1 and 2, and then years 3, 4 and 5 proposed a 3% increase per year. Would negotiate the increase down if possible, Multi-family would go out for bid.
Lisa Anthony spoke about Cheryl McClean and her meeting with Dr. Rajeev Khanna to discuss how his firm CompcorePro can help with our workman’s comp claims and save the Village money in premiums.
VI. Closed/Executive Session
Motion made by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Ms. McLean and Ms. Special to go into Executive Session with regard to Probable or Imminent Litigation and Employment, Compensation, Discipline, Performance or Dismissal of Certain Employees at 7:07 p.m.
Returned from Closed Session at 7:32 p.m.
Village Clerk, Irene Avitia, stated to let the record reflect that all members returned.
No action was taken in Closed Session
VI. Adjournment
Motion made by Ms. McLean, seconded by Ms. Special to adjourn at 8:43 p.m. Voice vote carried.
