City Council of The City of Northlake met June 12.

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to

stand for the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call:

Present: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras,

              Padilla, Werba, Gonzalez, Grochowski And

              Patti

Absent: Fred Paul, Treasurer

Others Present: Carol Lampard, Finance Director

              Debra Raida, Deputy City Clerk

              Mark Sterk, Attorney

              Norm Nissen Chief Of Police

              Dale Roberts, Public Works Director

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on May 15, 2017. Alderman

Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held May 15, 2017; seconded by

Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor

Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become

available; seconded by Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Alderman Grochowski said the Fred Paul, Treasurer said hello to everyone and he is doing

better.

Mayor Sherwin presented Ordinance O-08-2017; An ordinance Granting a Variance for the

Property Commonly Known as 2100 North Mannheim Road, Northlake, IL. Alderman

Patti made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Contreras. Mayor Sherwin called

for the roll.

Padilla, Werba, Gonzalez, Grochowski And

Patti

Nays: None

Motion to Approve Ordinance O-08-2017; An Ordinance Granting

A Variance for the Property Commonly Known as 2100 North

Mannheim Road, Northlake, Il Carried

Mayor Sherwin presented Ordinance O-09-2017; An Ordinance Granting a Special Use

Permit to Allow the Construction of an Automobile Laundry at the Property Commonly

Known as 2100 North Mannheim Road, Northlake, Illinois. Alderman Patti made a motion

to approve; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Motion to Approve Ordinance O-09-2017; An Ordinance Granting

A Special Use Permit to Allow The Construction of an

Automobile Laundry at the Property Commonly Known as 2100

North Mannheim Road, Northlake, Illinois Carried

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-10-2017; seconded by Alderman

Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Nays: Alderman Feldmann And Padilla

Motion to Approve Ordinance O-10-2017; An Ordinance

Enacting Regulations Regarding Paid Sick Leave

and Minimum Wage Requirements and Amending Title

 Three of The Northlake City Code Carried

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve Ordinance O-11-2017; seconded by Alderman

Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Motion to Approve Ordinance O-11-2017; An Ordinance

Adopting the Prevailing Wage Standard for The

City Of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois Carried

Mayor Sherwin presented Ordinance O-12-2017; An Ordinance Granting a Variance for

the Property Commonly Known as 48-58 East North Avenue, Northlake, Illinois.

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Patti. Several

residents spoke regarding their privacy and safety when this building is built. Mayor

Sherwin answered all their questions. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Motion to Approve Ordinance O-12-2017; An Ordinance Granting

A Variance for the Property Commonly Known as 48-58 East

North Avenue, Northlake, Illinois Carried

Mayor Sherwin presented Ordinance O-13-2017; An Ordinance Rezoning the Property

Commonly Known as 48-58 East North Avenue, Northlake, Cook County, Illinois.

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to approve; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor

Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras,

Padilla, Grochowski and Patti

Nays: Alderman Werba and Gonzalez

Motion to Approve Ordinance O-13-2017; An Ordinance Rezoning

The Property Commonly Known as 48-58 East North Avenue,

Northlake, Cook County, Illinois Carried

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to table Business License late fees and nonpayments;

seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were

in favor. The motion carried.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by
