Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Joseph T. Tamburino. Board members and those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The following members responded as present at roll call :

Town Hall Meeting:

Mayor Tamburino opened the Town Hall section of the meeting.

As there were no comments from the floor, Mayor Tamburino entertained a motion to close the Town Hall Meeting.

So moved by Trustee Andersen, seconded by Trustee Kramer. All voting aye, motion carried.

Approval of Minutes :

Mayor Tamburino entertained a motion that there being no additions or corrections to the minutes for Regular Meeting of February 27, 2017, the minutes be accepted and approved.

So moved by Trustee Andersen, seconded by Trustee Kramer. All voting aye, motion carried.

Village Clerk:

Clerk Gould administered the Oath of Office to new Hillside Firefighter/Paramedic Michael Gaudio.

Clerk Gould reported Mail - in Ballot Applications for the April 4, 2017 Election are now available ira the Hillside Clerk's Office or at cookcountyclerk.com. Completed forms must be received at Cook County Clerk's Office by Thursday, March 30, 2017.

Clerk Gould also reported early voting for April 4, 2017 Municipal Election is March 20-April 3, 2017. Nearest polling places to Hillside are the Villages of Bellwood, 3200 Washington Blvd., or Melrose Park, 1000 N. 25th Avenue. Hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Clerk Gould presented the Consent Agenda.

All items on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine in nature and will be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Board member so requests, in which event, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered a part of the Board Member's committee business.

Illinois Department of Revenue: Sales tax returns for month of January, 2017, in the amount of $429, 712. 34. Amount received for January, 2016, in the amount of $844, 486. 41.

Illinois Department of Transportation: Motor Fueli Tax allotment for the month of February, 2017, in the amount of $17, 538.41.

Approval of gross payroll for periods February 18, through March 3, 2017, in the amount of $272, 388. 71, and March 4 through March 17, 2017, in the amount of $265, 872. 10.

Payment of bills for the month of March, 2017, in the amount of S959, 248. 24.

Com Ed : Utility tax for the month of December, 2017, in the amount of $32,587. 11.

NiCor Gas : Utility Tax for the month of January, 2017, in the amount of S19, 469.81

Excise tax for the month of January, 2017, in the amount of S25, 682. O7.

Police Chief: (Joseph Lukaszek)

Chief Lukaszek reported follow up to a call on Maple Avenue where shots were fired at a house. Suspect is in custody after he was apprehended for attempted murder in a neighboring suburb.

Chief Lukaszek also reported a change on agenda for tonight is that Public Safety Committee now asking to hire two new police officers in anticipation of a possible retirement from the Police Department.

Chief Lukaszek also thanked Len Houseworth, Chair of the Police and Fire Commission, who was in attendance, for all the work that the Commission has done.

Fire Chief : (Jeffrey Pilz)

Chief Pilz reported there will be coffee at the Firehouse immediately following this meeting for our new Firefighter/Paramedic, Michael Gaudio.

Public Works and Building Services Director: (Joseph Pisano)

Village Administrator S Report :

Administrator Wajda reported Nicor is requesting a rate increase from the Illinois Commerce Commission.

Administrator Wajda also reported at the March Board of a Whole Meeting he mentioned a possible Resolution that would be on the agenda this evening regarding No Cash Bid Properties. The specific properties will not be available until 2018. He will continue to monitor the No Cash Bid Properties.

Public Services Committee: (Trustee Andersen)

Motion made by Trustee Andersen, seconded by Trustee Kramer, to approve annual service contract (May 15, 2017 to May 14, 2018) with Vertiv (formerly Emerson Network Power, Liebert Services, Inc.), 251 Holbrook Drive, Wheeling, IL 600 90, in the amount of Sill, 249.92, for UPS System, and authorizing Village Administrator to sign and execute same. The maintenance contract is an increase of $535.71 from last year.

Motion made by Trustee Andersen, seconded by Trustee Kramer, to accept proposal in the amount of $26,445.00 from Municipal Well and Pump, 1212 Storbeck Drive, P.O. Box. 311, Waupun, WI 53963, to perform work necessary to remove and replace one 40 HP motor and pump assembly at Fencil Reservoir which has failed. Work to include: clean/replace thrust bearings and lower guide bearing on 40 HP motor, replace pump bowl assembly, manufacture 39 of pump/motor column.

Lake Street, Melrose Park, IL 60160, for emergency work necessary to remove and replace 7' manhole around 54" storm pipe which failed causing large sink hole located at 51st Avenue and the Illinois Prairie Path.

Motion made by Trustee Andersen, seconded by Trustee Kramer, to approve contract in the amount of $11,100.00 with American Mobile Staging Inc., 1841 Mitchell Blvd., Schaumburg, IL 60193, to provide 24' x20'x5' Stageline Stage for 6 concerts, and authorizing Village Administrator to sign and execute same. Contract includes the labor necessary to setup and remove Stageline Stage for each concert date.

Motion made by Trustee Watson, seconded by Trustee Kramer, to approve the Police Department to purchase two 2017 Chevy Tahoe police vehicles from Miles Chevrolet, 150 W. Pershing Road, Decatur, IL 62526, at a total cost of S78, 770.00. These vehicles will replace units 402 and 406.

Trustee Watson reported letter received from Medical Director Mark Cichon, Loyola EMS System, commending Hillside Police Officer Johanne Nelson on his life saving efforts on a gunshot victim at Oakridge Cemetery on February 4, 2017.

Trustee Watson also reported letter received from Medical Director Mark Cichon, Loyola EMS System, commending Hillside Firefighter/EMT Rodney Bradberry and Firefighter/Paramedics Paula O'Driscoll, Katie Boeke, Nick Bojovic and Ricardo Salgado for their excellent pre hospital care on a gunshot victim at Oakridge Cemetery on February 4, 2017.

Trustee Watson further reported letter of Commendation from Hillside Police Sgt. Don Brown, for Police Officers Christopher Villarreal, Michael Krueger, Johanne Nelson and Kevin Whittle, on their assisting neighboring police departments and apprehending and arresting a dangerous offender on March 19, 2017.

Trustee Watson reminded Community Watch Meeting is Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room.

Trustee Farries reported Hillside Youth Commission is sponsoring breakfast with the Easter Bunny at 9:30 a.m., and the Easter Egg hunt at 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, April 15th, at the Hillside COLInt:1011 S.
