Westchester Committee of Whole reviews contract bids

Meeting 09

At a recent meeting, the Westchester Committee of the Whole reviewed contract bids for city roof and street projects.

Below are the minutes from this meeting, as provided by the committee.

MINUTES OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING OF THE WILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE WILLAGE OF WESTCHESTER 9 AUGUST 2016

President Pulia called the meeting to order at 9:10 p.m.

Deputy Clerk Jessica Spencer called the roll: Present: Village President Sam D. Pulia and Trustees Angelo Calcagno, Carl Celestino, Frank Perry, Nick Steker, & Tom Yurkovich Also Present: Attorney Michael Durkin, Chief Jim Adams, Chief Steve Stelter, Melissa Headley, Greg Hribal, Robert Lewis, and Chris Webber

Absent: Trustee Celestine Reda

NEW BUSINESS:

A. Membership in West Cook County Solid Waste Agency - President Pulia introduced Neal James, Executive Director of the West Cook County Solid Waste Agency, to discuss being a member of the agency. The Board discussed the topic, and agreed to move the topic forward for approval.

Trustee Steker requested the Old Business topic to be moved up for the sake of time:

OLD BUSINESS:

A. Cook County Dispatch - Ms. Matthys introduced the topic by explaining a tour she took of Cook County's facilities, as well as introducing Mike Tillman from NORCOM who was in the audience. The Board discussed the options available to the Village. The Board agreed to consider a one-year renewal of the contract with NORCOMM at the next Board meeting.

Trustee Steker left the meeting at 10:10pm.

B. Bid Results-2016 Street improvement Program - Mr. Lewis discussed the bid recommendation for Orange Crush, who came in

under budget. The Board accepted the recommendation and the topic will be moved to the next Board agenda.

C. Bid Results-Post Office Roof Replacement - Mr. Lewis discussed the bid recommendation from YMI Group. The Board

requested more information.

Due to the lateness of the meeting, President Pulia suggested to table the following topics until the Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, August 23".

D. Proposed Amendment to Municipal Code - Lead Pipes

E. Right of Way Obstructions

Trustee Yurkovich moved to table items D and E until the August 23" Committee of the Whole meeting; Trustee Calcagno seconded the motion. By a voice vote, the motion passed.

President Pulia called for public participation; there were no public comments.

Trustee Yurkovich moved to adjourn the COW meeting, Trustee Calcagno Seconded the motion. By a voice vote, the motion passed.

President Pulia declared the meeting adjourned at 10:35 p.m.
