The River Forest Committee of the Whole discussed the fiscal 2017 budget and related issues at a recent meeting.

Finance Director Joan Rock said she expects water and sewer rates to rise in June based on projections shaped by the City of Chicago's plan to raise water rates.

The council discussed a proposal to raise the leaf-collection fee, but the recent decision to boost May water and sewer fees scuttled the leaf-fee proposal.

The budget can be viewed at http://vrf.us/sitemedia/pdf/2017_Final_Budget_-_05-16.pdf.
